Changing the Tides is a first-of-its-kind, 4-day therapeutic retreat and training conference designed specifically for first responders and their families.
Set against the restorative backdrop of the Outer Banks, North Carolina in summer 2027, this event merges clinical group counseling, peer support education, leadership development, relationship enrichment, and genuine family fun into a single immersive experience. Unlike traditional conferences that separate professionals from their families, Changing the Tides intentionally integrates both.
First responders attend clinical and training sessions during the day while their families enjoy structured programming and childcare, then everyone reconnects for beach lunches, dinners, team-building activities, and evening entertainment. The goal is simple but powerful: bring first responder families back together, help them heal, give them tools to take home, and let them have fun doing it.
